Lucinda Studio

Originally from Florida, Lucinda has been a fine artist in the U.S. Virgin Islands for almost 20 years. Presently, she is the resident artist for the Ritz-Carlton in St. Thomas. As the resident artist, Lucinda is able to capture the essence of the property’s atmosphere in her paintings. She also teaches watercolor painting classes at The Ritz-Carlton a few days a week. Lucinda is also an alchemist in her own right. Her unique style distills the deepest qualities of Island Life. It translates into a positive feeling that emanates from the paper or canvas. Lucinda moved to the U.S. Virgin Islands in 1987 and it was then that she gave full attention to watercolor, her trademark to this day. She is able to focus on the light of the islands by using pastel colors against dark shadows and painting the intense light that reflects on the water. Clients have commented that they will sit in front of their painting to be transported into a relaxing state after a hard day at work.
